OLYMPIC CARNIVAL GAMES

Celebrating the Olympic Spirit of the Winter and Summer Games, the Carnival games will be presented in the classrooms and gymnasium.

Your 2008 Olympic Athlete Pass (Carnival Card) will be available for purchase one week prior to the Nativity Carnival (at the Nativity Fron Desk) or at the 2008 Carnival itself. Purchase each Carnival Card for $5.00 (20 game tickets), visit game stations, have game tickets crossed off and then turn in your Carnival Card to the Mini-Raffle Room (Room 201) to be entered into Happy Joe's pizza certificate drawings throughout the night of the Carnival.

The Mighty Ducks Olympic Hockey Challenge

Embrace the spirit of the mighty underdogs! The participants will purchase 1 duck for 1 ticket. They pick a duck from all the floating ducks and win the the total of tickets that is listed on the bottom of the duck.

It's Either Win or Luge!

Racing in around the columns of luscious suckers, you have to finally choose! For 1 ticket, the participant is able to pick one sucker from a cardboard platform. 1/3 to 1/2 of the tips of the suckers are colored with marker - those with this marking receive 2 tickets. If not colored, they get to keep the sucker.

Fishing for that Olympic Glory

When it comes to the Olympics, it's 80% preparation and 20% luck... here's to that 20% ! There is a boy fishing line and a girl fishing line. Each of these fishing lines has a small basket on the end. The fishing line is placed over the fishing backboard and a prize is placed in the basket.

It's time for a speed make-over... and in record time! Participants are able to have their face painted, hair sprayed or a tattoo applied for two tickets.

Slalom your way through the great Lotto Wheel course! Each participant can only play once - hand is stamped when they go through the game. Spin the lotto wheel and the participant wins the bottle on the number they spin.

There's always silver or bronze... but you would rather go for the Gold! Each participant is given 3 opportunities to toss a coin into the cup or bowl. If they succeed, they receive 2 tickets.

Sending the Stones to the Kitchen

Try your gentle and guided hand at this variation of the Olympic curling event! The participant will get 5 chances to get a ping pong ball into each of the 5 buckets. A participant receives 1 ticket for each bucket in which they get a ping pong ball.

A participant receive three bean bags in this Olympic challenge. For each bean bag through one of the holes in the bean bag background, the participant will receive 1 ticket. If they do not make any bean bags through the holes, they receive candy as a consolation prize.

Twists and Turns on the Skeleton Course

Race through the obstacle course in record time! The participant drops three disks down the bobsled board. If the participant receives two of the same color, they receive a ticket. If the participant receives tickets equal to the total of the three disks.

A participant is able to dig in the dirt for a plastic coin. They receive the corresponding number of tickets that matches the number on the coin.

Olympic Biathlon Challenge

It's off to the Olympic biathlon! Run down to Room 206 and then try to knock down the targets with precision accuracy. Each participant will receive three darts. They have 3 chances to knock down a Dixie-size cup from the shelf or table. They receive 1 ticket for each cup they are able to knock down.

Paired Skating Competition

Hitting a balloon with a dart has all the difficulty of paired figure skating. A participant will receive three chances to pop a balloon with a dart. They receive 2 tickets for each balloon they are able to pop. There is a consolation prize for three misses.

Round and Round, Through the Course!

Navigate the course, round and round, and cross the finish line first! There are numbered circles up to 20 participants. The music is started and when it stops, everyone stands on a circle. A number is drawn and the person standing on the corresponding drawn number is the winner. They can pick their prize of a cake, bars or cookies.

Olympic Basketball

Participants will try their hand at "round ball" from three spots set up on the gym floor. Each spot is marked with a shot and corresponding prize. 1 ticket shots are junior freethrow, jump shot, granny shot and lay-up. 2 ticket shots are regular free throws. 3 ticket shots are at the top of the key (three pointer). Each participant receives one practice shot and then their actual shot.
Olympic Winter Triathlon
In the Olympics, it's all about the rings. It the football is thrown through the large tube (face), the participant receives 3 tickets. If the football is thrown through one of the smaller tubes (ears), the participant receives 5 tickets.
Slapshot Olympic Challenge
It's time to slap the puck around the ice! There is a five-hole hockey tarp - two holes above the shoulders and three on the ground. If the participant makes a shot through the holes on the ground, they receive one ticket. If the participant makes a shot through the shoulder-high holes, they receive five tickets.
Olympic Ski Jump Challenge
It's all about distance and accuracy. Participants receive one chance to putt the ball in the hole. If they succeed, they receive 3 tickets.
 
Cutting An Edge Adventure
Each participant receives one practice throw. The participant then receives two throws to get the football in the glove pocket of a blow-up football player. If the participant throws the football in the pocket, they get 2 tickets.
 
Olympic Snowball Challenge
Batter up! It's time for baseball! Each participant receives one practice throw. The participant then receives two throws to get the ball in the glove pocket of a blow-up baseball player. If the participant throws the baseball in the pocket, they get 2 tickets.
 
Olympic Biathlon Challenge
After running from game to game in the gym, test your shooting skills in this competition. Each participant will receive three suction cup darts. They receive one ticket for each dart that hits within the targeted areas on the wall.
 
Racing Down Carnival Mountain
 Race your competitors down the challenging Carnival Mountain to an Olympic finish! Up to six participant can play at one time, as there are six lanes (with 10 squares in each lane). Square 1 is the starting point for each participant and Square 10 is the finish line. The leader rolls a die and the player whose lane number comes up gets to move forward one square. The game ends when the first participant reaches Square 10. First place: 3 tickets; Second place: 2 tickets; Third place: 1 ticket.
 
Airborne: The Toddler Bounce Snowboarding Run
Once you're airborne, it's up to you to strut your style! Inflatable bounce game is for toddlers four years and younger. 1 ticket gets you 2 minutes to bounce with the best of 'em.
