06.07.11 Committee and Nativity PTO Board Update - Phase Two

UPDATED TIMELINE AND CONTRACTS

Nativity Playground Renovation Committee Members:

We are drawing ever so close to the "breaking ground" for the base of the sport court on June 14, so here are some important updates:

TIMELINE AND CONTRACTS

  • The overall timeline has not changed since the last committee update:
    • May 27 - Ordering of sport court tiling and materials/fitness stations
      • As of 06.01.11, the fitness station equipment has been ordered from Dakota Fence (see preliminary invoice);
      • ALL services and materials regarding Phase II must have an invoice/contract signed and approved by Fr. Kevin Boucher prior to delivery and/or installation;
      • As of 06.07.11, the sport court tiles have not yet been ordered (see preliminary invoice) - full payment to be made at time of order placement;
    • June 10 - Final check on gas/power/cable lines for installation areas
    • June 14-15 - Removal of basketball hoops/Installation of sport court cement base
      • Greg, can you make sure to email/fax an invoice to Cindy ASAP for Northern Improvement Co.'s services and materials? Refer to the bold print above.
      • Greg, will Northern Improvement Co. do all of their work on June 14 or over the two days? I'm trying to organize my time so I can be there to "document" (film and photograph) the event.
      • The Karen and Chris Gehrig family has requested the basketball hoops that are being removed from the playground area on June 14-15. Northern Improvement Co. will remove them and set them off to the side for the Gehrig family to transport.
    • July 14-15 - Fitness station equipment installation and wood chip base
      • Ken Follman informs me that it will take 6-8 persons one entire day to put in the fitness stations. More volunteers will shorten the time - let's try to get as many Nativity mothers and fathers out there to help us!
      • Cindy, any word on the postcard going out to promote the volunteer need?
    • July 18-19 - Installation of sport court tiles
      • The logo Nativity Chargers will be created and placed at center court, facing the school, and will be between 4'X4' to 6'X6', depending on what will fit in this space.
      • Again we will need volunteers to help install these tiles - about 6-10 persons. We will be "bolting" down the center court logo for safety and potential theft/vandalism reasons.
  • The above tentative timeline will be altered and fluctuate to address impending/potential inclement weather.

PROMOTION

  • A postcard promotion has been created to send out to Nativity families in the next week to encourage them to assist with the July 14-15 fitness station installation.
    • Any word as to this postcard being sent out, Cindy?

I am hoping that you will be available to help with the July 14-15 fitness station installation; at the very least, I hope that you will promote the July 14-15 installation to other Nativity families. There will be updates on the website as we get closer to installation and I will also send out an email that you can forward to others. We most likely will need 15-20 persons on these days of installation.

One week and counting...

Peace, Lee
