A updated playground design change is proposed so as to remove a portion of the southwest section of the playground to make room for the memorial park area.

The reasons for this proposed change are as follows:
- The graded open memorial park area will easily address any drainage issue that may occur from rain or snow up by the building.
- The open memorial park area will leave some leeway on the west side of the sport court and allow water to drain off and away from the sport court.
- Since the Committee is planning to plant trees in the memorial park, a playground area (with pea rock and wood chips) will not serve these trees well and will eventually cause mildew and fungus around the tree's roots. An open park area with topsoil will be the most conducive for these trees.
- The section that is proposed to be removed is a section that is presently not being utilized.
- The upside to the removal of this section is that a significant amount of wood chips will be able to be salvaged and used to fill in areas of the present playground areas.
- The fitness station area will not be affected by this proposed design change.
