RAFFLE COMMITTEE


It is the purpose of the Raffle Committee to provide the Carnival with another avenue of fund-raising while also providing families and guests with another avenue for prize-winning and entertainment.

Large-ticket items are secured by the Raffle Committee and then raffled through ticket sales to families and guests. The Raffle Committee typically has secured five large-ticket items for raffling, securing the raffle permit from the city of Fargo, and coordinating ticket printing, circulation and collection.

ONGOING DISCUSSION ITEMS/INFORMATION

  • In order to (1) ease in prize solicitation, (2) increase the number of overall prizes available to win and (3) to increase overall raffle ticket sales, the Raffle and Mini-Raffle Revisions and Redesign plan has been developed.
  • Discussion will occur at the November PTO Meeting as to whether or not (and if so, how much) funding the PTO will put toward the Carnival raffle prizes - as it has done in the past.
  • It is recommended that more time and earlier timeline be spent in securing more prize sponsorships for the Carnival raffle. This should begin no later than November and be completed by mid-December. Following the prizes being secured, a raffle permit must be secured from the city of Fargo and tickets (with necessary information included) are to be printed.
  • It is recommended that tickets be distributed to students shortly after their arrival back to school in January, so as to have a greater window for ticket sales to families and the general community.
